Roofing Products We Install
Most roofing companies install whatever their supplier has on the truck. We’d rather talk through what actually fits your house, your budget, and how long you plan to be there. Below is what we install, what each material is genuinely good at, and where it makes sense.
CertainTeed Architectural Shingles
Asphalt shingle is what goes on the majority of Middle Tennessee homes, and for good reason — it performs well in this climate, the color range is enormous, and the cost-to-lifespan math is hard to beat. We install CertainTeed.
What ShingleMaster Certification Actually Means
“CertainTeed certified” gets used loosely in this industry. There are tiers, and they aren’t the same thing.
ROOFWORX is a CertainTeed ShingleMaster — a credentialed tier that requires passing installation training, maintaining licensing and insurance, and meeting CertainTeed’s vetting standards. It isn’t something a contractor buys by ordering shingles from a supplier.
The practical consequence: only credentialed contractors can register the SureStart PLUS 3-Star extended warranty. If a roofer isn’t credentialed, that coverage isn’t available on your roof, no matter which shingles they install.
The Integrity Roof System
Extended warranty coverage requires more than shingles — CertainTeed requires the components underneath to be theirs as well. A complete Integrity Roof System installation includes:
- Landmark or Landmark PRO shingles — architectural, dimensional profile, UL Class 3 impact rated
- RoofRunner synthetic underlayment — replaces old felt, far more tear-resistant
- WinterGuard waterproofing membrane — ice and water barrier at eaves, valleys, and penetrations
- SwiftStart starter shingle — proper adhesion at the roof edge where wind uplift starts
- Ridge ventilation — cut in properly, not just laid over
- Shadow Ridge hip and ridge cap — UL Class 4 impact rated, the highest rating available
SureStart PLUS 3-Star Coverage
When a ShingleMaster installs a full Integrity Roof System, the roof qualifies for CertainTeed’s 3-Star SureStart PLUS warranty:
- 50-year full replacement cost coverage for manufacturing defects
- 10-year credentialed contractor workmanship coverage
- 30-year algae resistance
- 30-year 160 mph wind coverage
- Transferable once within the first 15 years

Class 3 Impact Resistance, Standard
Every asphalt shingle we install is UL Class 3 impact rated as standard — not an upsell. In a region that sees regular hail, that means better resistance to bruising and granule loss. Many carriers offer premium discounts for impact-resistant roofing; whether you qualify depends on your policy, but every completed roof comes with a documentation package you can submit to ask.
Metal Roofing
Metal costs more up front than asphalt and lasts considerably longer. It sheds snow and rain faster, reflects heat, and doesn’t have granules to lose. Whether it’s the right call depends mostly on how long you plan to own the house.
We install both common systems, and we run our own metal fabrication — which means panel widths, trim, and custom components get made to fit the roof rather than the roof getting adapted to stock parts.
Exposed Fastener
The more economical metal option. Panels are screwed through the face into the substrate, with washers sealing each penetration. Typically 29 gauge on residential work, most often an R-panel profile.
We source from several manufacturers of comparable quality rather than being locked to one supplier, which helps on lead times and color availability. Good fit for outbuildings, barns, porches, workshops, and homes where the look suits the property.
Standing Seam
The premium metal system. Fasteners are concealed beneath raised seams, so there are no exposed penetrations to back out or leak over time. Cleaner appearance, longer service life, and the option most homeowners picture when they picture a metal roof.
Panel width and seam height are both variable, which matters more than it sounds — proportion is what makes a standing seam roof look right on a particular house. We’ll walk through the options rather than defaulting to whatever runs fastest.
BRAVA Composite Roofing
BRAVA is a synthetic composite that reproduces cedar shake, slate, and Spanish tile — the look of natural material without the weight, the maintenance, or the fire risk. It carries a Class 4 impact rating and a 50-year limited warranty, and the color is molded through the material rather than surface-applied, so it doesn’t weather to a different shade.
This is a premium product for homeowners who want the character of a cedar or slate roof and intend to stay in the house. It costs meaningfully more than asphalt, and it’s worth it for the right home.

Choosing Colors and Getting the Details Right
This is the part most contractors skip, and it’s the part homeowners notice for the next twenty years.
A roof isn’t just shingles. Drip edge, gutters, downspouts, flashing, and trim coil are all visible, and when they’re chosen independently — or defaulted to white and brown because that’s what’s in the truck — the finished house looks assembled rather than designed.
We work through color selection with you before anything is ordered, using CertainTeed’s visualization tools and physical product samples so you can see the combination on a house rather than imagining it from a swatch. Drip edge, gutter, and trim colors get coordinated to the shingle and to the existing exterior.
We also replace flashing as standard rather than reusing what’s there. Reused flashing is one of the most common shortcuts in this trade, and it’s a leak waiting to happen at exactly the points where roofs fail first.
Which Material Is Right for Your Home?
- Staying 10–20 years, want best value: CertainTeed architectural shingle. The Integrity System with SureStart PLUS is hard to beat on cost per year of service.
- Staying long term, want to stop thinking about the roof: standing seam metal or BRAVA composite.
- Outbuilding, barn, porch, or workshop: exposed fastener metal.
- Historic or high-end home where appearance drives the decision: BRAVA composite, or standing seam in the right profile.
- Insurance claim replacement: usually shingle to match the approved scope, though upgrades are often possible — we’ll tell you where the line is.
